3 Important Tips For Dealing With Gout

Make no bones about it…if you're suffering from gout, you know all too well what the word suffering really means. The majority of people don't realize just how painful gout can be. Well, you do not have to suffer any more. I am going to share 3 important life saving tips for dealing with your gout. Follow these three tips and you'll be on your way to leading a less painful and more enjoyable life.

Modifying your risk factors is probably the most important thing you can do. There are certain things will make you more prone to getting gout in the first place. By modifying these risk factors, even if you already have gout, you'll in turn lessen the severity of the symptoms. Keep your weight within the normal range for your height, follow a moderate exercise program, avoid rich foods, meat and seafood and last, but not least, have an evaluation for lead poisoning.

If you're going to have any chance of beating this terrible disease you must limit your intake of alcohol…especially beer. For people who suffer gout, ALCOHOL is one of the worst offenders. The reason is because the alcohol helps increase the uric acid levels which in turn inflame the joints, tendons and tissues of the body. You will greatly improve your quality of life, just by eliminating this one thing from your diet.

Finally, if your gout flares up, don't be stubborn like some people. You're not going to be able to push through the pain. When you have an attack of gout and a joint becomes swollen or painful, rest it. Do not forget to keep it elevated. If you have to take a pain killer (not recommended) do NOT take aspirin as this will only make the problem worse. Take something like ibuprofen to numb the pain.

The reason I don't recommend taking pain killers is simple. The side effects, either long or short term, will only lead to other problems. Choosing the natural ways of dealing with your gout problem is the better route to go.

Discover What Can Be Done About Your Gout?

Although gout isn't a deadly illnesses like cancer that rightfully gets a massive exposure and ultimately, tons of research and time to finding a cure. And because of this, gout sufferers don't quite get the attention that most of them would like. This does not make the illness any less dangerous and, at times, unbelievably intolerable to live with and manage the pain. Within this article, I'm going to share some useful nuggets of information that will help treat your gout and I am hoping you will find this to be of some help to you.

Most people don't really understand what actually causes gout or how dangerous it really can be. This is part of the price gout sufferers pay for not being a huge bulls eye on the medical map. Gout is a condition characterized by abnormally elevated levels of uric acid in the blood, recurring attacks of joint inflammation, and deposits of hard lumps of uric acid in and around the joints. This inflammation can cause severe pain which, if left untreated, can cause severe tissue damage. Drinking too much alcohol, eating too much red meat, eating too much fish with chemicals called purines, will cause people to have a higher risk of getting the disease.

Even though there are many common treatments for gout, almost all of them have side effects…many of which can be harmful themselves. These treatments include shots and corticosteroids or other prescription medications. Over the counter pain killers such as Ibuprofen and Naproxen . Aspirin is not recommended, as it can actually make your gout worse. There is medicine to help reduce the buildup of uric acid that your doctor can also prescribe to you.

Since all these treatments have some type of side effects…many of which are less pleasant than the gout itself, I would like to mention that there really are better ways to treat your gout. A simple and easy way is to simply change your diet by doing the following:

1. Avoid rich foods and alcohol.

2. Avoid red meat and fish.

3. Drink plenty of water.

You don't have to continue suffering from gout. There are natural treatments available so that you don't have to suffer through the side effects of dangerous medications.

A Drug Free Gout Treatment

There has been a report circulating the Internet called "The Drug Companies Are Killing Us." You really need to look it up because it is essential reading, which it just may save your life. Why am I bringing this up? Because it is positively crucial that you go about your gout treatment WITHOUT taking harmful drugs. I will explain why and how you can achieve this.

First off we will begin with the why. Drugs commonly used for the treatment of gout, such as corticosteroids have many extremely dangerous side effects. Eye damage, bone loss and death are some of the dangers from using corticosteroids. These drugs have been causing quite a commotion, and in spite of what doctors say, that it may take years for any damage to occur, these dangerous side effects can actually occur within weeks of first use. In a word, stay away from these drugs.

Okay, so if we can't take drugs, how do we treat our gout? Well, the first and simplest way is to change your life style. Poor diet and alcohol consumption…especially beer are may common contributors leading to gout. Alcohol is your biggest enemy and you need to avoid it like the plague. Cut down and try to avoid red meat, fish and any rich foods. These contain chemicals which increase the uric acid accumulation that is associated with gout.

Secondly, you will need to make sure that you cut down other risk factors. Making sure that your weight is within acceptable levels for your height is mandatory. Most, if not all people who suffer from gout, are overweight, again leading back to the diet of rich food and red meat. Do not be worried about getting enough protein in your diet. You can always nuts, beans and supplements as a substitute for red meat if need be.

Understanding the difference between a low fat diet and a low calorie diet, is extremely important. Since most low calorie diets actually raise the uric acid output, you should choose a low fat diet, which will help alleviate the symptoms of gout.

In my signature, you'll find a review of a great book that will help you battle your gout naturally…without drugs. I think you'll find it an interesting and helpful read.

You don't have to continue to suffer with your gout…not anymore.

Ultimate Gout Relief Report: A Review

It’s about time that ebooks about medical conditions actually started coming out written by doctors. I guess most are too busy pushing pills to really care about helping people. Okay, don’t get me started on the medical profession or this will turn into a rant instead of a review.

The Ultimate Gout Relief Report IS written by a doctor. His name is Dr. Jeff Sands. And, as you can probably guess, he came up with this home remedy to treat gout because he is a sufferer himself. I guess when the doctor has a real problem real solutions come. Okay, sorry…I promised not to rant.

Let me say one thing right from the start that Dr. Sands says first thing on the audio that plays at his site. There is NO cure for Gout. However, Dr. Sands has developed a treatment that greatly reduces the symptoms to the point where you can actually have a good quality of life without the constant pain that goes with having gout. If you’re a sufferer, you know what I’m talking about.

Ethically, I can’t actually reveal the treatment in this review. If I did, I’d get sued and that’s the last thing I need. But I can tell you this, at his page you will find unsolicited audio, yes, audio testimonials from people who have been helped by his remedy. It really does work and you can hear it for yourself.

Dr Sands, in his report, completely covers what causes gout, how it’s traditionally treated, and what you can do by simply making some changes to your diet and using his home remedy to all but eliminate your gout. Like I said, there is no cure, but this is darn close.

At the very least, please check out Dr. Sands’ Page.

You can then decide for yourself if you think this is something that can help you or not.
